Chattanooga Assault & Violent Crimes
The consequences of a conviction for a violent offense can be devastating and lifelong. In addition to jail or prison time, violent felonies can impact employment, reputation, and cause other far reaching effects on one’s life. The State wields enormous power and resources to prosecute serious felonies. A successful defense requires an experienced and dedicated advocate. Our firm passionately defends the rights ofour clients, fighting to win the very best outcome to each case. Our results speak for themselves. Here are several examples of successes in recent years:
October 2015: Our client was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, and felony weapon possession. His charges could have carried up to 25 years. Through tireless negotiations and a thorough analysis of the case against our client, we were able to achieve a 3 year plea for our client.
October 2016: We represented a man charged with First Degree Murder. His codefendant went to trial first and was convicted of First Degree Murder and sentenced to life in prison. Our analysis of the State’s evidence revealed numerous defense issues and possible rights violations. Through a strong defense that addressed these proof issues, we negotiated a plea for our client that will result in parole eligibility after 3 years.
November 2016: With a client facing six felonies, including an Attempted First Degree Murder charge, our client faced a potential sentence in excess of 25 years in prison. Through a strong defense and advocacy for our client, we negotiated a plea to 4 years.
April 2017: A client facing 16 counts of theft and burglary in multiple counties in North Georgia, including drug and gun charges, entered into a long-fought agreement to serve only 6 months in detention and then complete a drug rehabilitation inpatient program. This outcome was the result of over a year of research, investigation, and difficult negotiations that began with an offer of significant prison time.
